Attention all addiction therapists! - By: , 21 Nov 2000
In Motivational Interviewing, Miller & Rollnick have devised one of the most accessible treatment approaches for those working with an addicted client group. This approach builds on a well researched theoretical understanding of addictive processes, & of how people come to change their behaviour.

Most importantly to the worker attempting to assist & therapeuticallly engage with the addicted client, Motivational Interviewing is a counselling approach that has been clinicallly evaluated with a proven track record of effectiveness that matches any other approach. Even better, it is easy to learn, & understand. Reading this book may be the best thing you ever did to help your addicted clients! Seriously!

I also suggest you check the[ir] website ...

As a graduate psychiatric nurse who has worked for an NHS alcohol addiction service for 6 years I can truly say that this has been the book to most positively influence my clinical practice in alll that time.

If you work in addictions, you need to (beg, borrow, or) buy this book!
