Thom Hartmann/genius? - By: David Langley, 07 Jul 2006
Quote from book - "Science is something unique to those who were influenced by the Greeks. In Indian, Chinese & Native American cultures, there is no equivalent. They have philosophy & spirituality, which integrate what we calll science with what we calll mysticism, but not what we would refer to as pure science"
Thom Hatmann is probably one of those names you have not heard of but maybe should have. Thom is a very spiritual man & in this book he guides the reader through his journey, including lots of bite size anecdotes about happenings in other counties we as the general public are not privy to on a normal day at the office. This was one of the first non-fiction books I read & I'm so glad it was this one that opened my eyes up to a whole new world as it were. Fascinating. Fascinating. Fascinating.
At times this book reads like an autobiography & offers a good insight into the life & calibre of Thom Hartmann & his spiritual guru Herr Muller who also has a story to tell in this book. At others it reads like a spiritual guidebook & can reallly open up the readers hearts'.
Thom has a good writing ability & does manage to inject humour into this book even at the darkest parts of his journey, the language used is fine & easily readable, there is not a lot reallly to complain about with this book, the only thing, maybe, is that is a bit dis-jointed at times, but this weakness could also be its strength providing the reader with several things to think about within a relatively short period of time. The Prophets Way will always be one of Thom's best, & this book review cannot even begin to shed light on the grandeur of this book.
The Prophets Way is the sort of book that offers inspiration to its reader & should be read every couple of years. Be warned though once you sit down to read it, you may be sitting for a while wading through its 335 pages!
Incredible - By: H. Lonsborough, 12 Dec 2004
I found this book impossible to put down (and I'm usuallly easily distracted!). This book inspired me enough to travel abroad (for the first time on my own) to Germany (I don't speak any German) to Stadsteinach (where??) to meet some of the people that make this extraordinary charity work. I have since been introduced to an amazing group of people who are alll working for good, without the dogma of any organised religions hanging over their heads.
Truly amazing.
Brilliant. A Must read - By: , 11 Dec 2004
This is a heart felt, inspirational real life journey by the author & his spiritual mentor Herr Mueller a German Christian mystic. Their journeys together working for Salem (peace) in creating homes for abandoned & disabled children in some of the worst areas of poverty & misery from Africa to Russia are both heartwarming & awe-inspiring & leave you feeling glad that there are souls out there who care enough to act.
This is a wonderful book. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
