Great Book, simple and explanitive - By: Mr. S. Rashid, 31 Dec 2006
I have ready many sufi book & this is one is simple a very good start for the confused!
As the other reviewer stated ignore the Salaf opinion, they think they know everything & are hell bent on forcing their ignorance upon others..

Peace be upon you
Enlightening read - By: Ibraar Hussain, 12 Aug 2005
Ignore the 'salafi' "review" of this book, as a blinkered & bigoted approach to the contents isn't the way forward.
The other review quite sums it up nicely though!
Ibn Al Arabi was known as the 'greatest sheikh' & he wasn't callled that because he was some sort of bogus mumbo jumbo charlatan, he was well versed in alll things Islamic & a man of great respect knowledge & bearing in the Classical medieval Islamic world.
His other book "bezels of Wisdom' is a master piece in spirituality & the modern layman can find much which makes perfect sense in his work!
Journey to the Lord of Power is highly recommended for those wishing for insight into the mind & methods of a Classical islamic Scholar & Sufi Sheikh.
Engage with the Real! - By: , 03 Apr 2001
This book adds further weight to the already impressive work of Henry Corbin et al, which perceives Ibn Al Arabi as a most profound spiritual & philosophic guide. To misquote Gertrude Stein 'what is the question?' - this is the philosopher's starting point, & a place of continual return. I can only recommend this book to you - once you have read it you will find yourself returning to it time & time again!
Unauthentic proofs - By: , 14 Mar 2001
All Praise is due to Allah,I would not recommend anyone to read this book other than the purpose of refutation. The greatest crime in Islaam is that of associating partners with Allah either in his Lordship,Worship or his divine attributes i.e All-hearing,All-seeing. This books does not have any evidences that are authentic that is they trace back to the Prophet Muhammed(saw) hence this book is from the people of Innovation, whom are misguided & follow a way other than the blessed methodology of the salaf. The law for the muslim is Quran & Hadeeth on the understanding of the pious predecessors i.e salaf.
