She started researching the subject after being affected by a brain tumour, & her own story of recovery, not once but twice, & the gradual discovery into her own attitudes & beliefs is fascinating & inspiring. But this book is much more than a personal testimony; it's packed with actual case histories from doctors & patients on the effect of language on the body.
Barbara Hoberman Levine has brought her experiences & case studies together in a creative way. Her honesty, courage & warmth comes through & makes this a fascinating & possibly life-changing read. (She created the term 'seed thoughts', now widely used by others.)
I think this book will appeal to a wide range of people; it's certainly not just for committed New Agers! I found it fascinating & enlightening; it supported & strengthened my own belief in the power we have to either heal or make ourselves ill - simply by taking care of the way we think & talk about ourselves!
I think this book reallly should be on everyone's bookshelf. It's the sort of book you can open at any page & find something relevant; you may be surprised how many doctors, scientists & health professionals the world over have discovered the power of words; this may well be the book you need to inspire you to greater awareness, insight, & health! I read my copy quite often, dipping into it for inspiration. This edition also includes a chapter on Dreams & Drawings written by Bernie Siegel, M.D. (Love, Medicine & Miracles.)
Highly recommended.
