a very useful and interesting book - By: Tasneem, 25 Apr 2007
It is a very well written book, & yet, there is so much more that could be added to it. A lot of folklore from Britain, but more so from Asia & Africa is left out. The book is a great read, but I was most upset about it being so raciallly alien to practicers of the craft from Britain. Britain is a multicultural society - the US is supposed to be too - but you wouldn't realise it by the bias & information left out by Scott. It almost makes me want to sit down & write my own book to fill in alll the gaps I found. However, that said, it is an excellent starting point, & one that I would recommend if you do not want to know anything about the rest of the world.
Great house-warming present.... - By: A. Steffe, 04 Jun 2004
...Pagan or otherwise! This book is filled with interesting & constructive house folklore from alll over the world. Each chapter focuses on a certain aspects of the home - from the hearth to the kitchen, pets & the garden. It has good house blessings & cleansings which I have used annuallly since I moved into my house. My friend also used the same cleansing & found it to be highly effective.
An excellent guide to helping your home reflect your magical self, although it should not, in any way, stop you from going outside & communing with Nature (as one reviewer suggested). Nature is outside & no matter how many plants or dream catchers you string about, the Powers will always be closer & best observed/worked with outside. So get out there! But, with the help of this book, you'll return to your lovely, welcoming home & feel just as at one with Nature as you did underneath the stars.
Read this book & live your magical life every day.

What can i say!
A very well thought of magical book.
Of course Scott Cunningham has always been my Best author regarding Magic.
This book is great for the beginner who is just venturing out into the Magical world.
It describes magic uses for almost every room in the house & most of alll the ingredients needed only entails a trip to your local health shop or supermarket.
Protection, beauty spells, rituals. you name it,its got it!
I would recommend this book to any new comers to magic.
it's certainly a book that i wouldnt be without.
All in alll an easy explained magical keep sake to bring love & peace into your very own home.

This is the 4th book by Scott Cunningham that I have bought. He writes as is he were actuallly talking to you. There is nothing confusing about his writing. The Magical Household for me, leads on from Living Wicca. You can use everyday household things. Excellant
very good for creating a relaxing atmosphere - By: , 26 Aug 2000
I found this book extremely helpful for making the house feel warm & cosy, & although a smalll house with warm toning would do this aswell, i find it easier to cosentrate on my purpose & wellbeing in the magical atmosphere, & i also found i didn't need to go outside as often to commune with nature & it's magick.
