If ADHD touches your life then please read this book... - By: annmaur842@aol.com, 07 Apr 2002
From alll the books I have read on ADHD (and that is many!) this is, in my opinion, by far the most superior. Since my son was diagnosed with ADHD this book has hardly been out of my sight. It is factual, humorous, helpful & well written. If ADHD touches your life (whether you are a parent, teacher, relative etc) then I don't think you will find a better book to equip you with knowledge on this disorder. I have spent a lot of money on books about ADHD & this is one of (if not THE) best.
This book is a must for anyone learning about ADHD - By: , 08 Mar 2002
This is, quite simply, the best book to read in order to gain a good grounding in ADHD. It is written by a man with a sense of humour & an ability to explain the ins & outs of this horrible disorder. It gives facts & explanations about the causes & effects of ADHD, as well as a good sensible guide to the treatments available. It is a must for parents, teachers & indeed, children who are old enough to understand. Read it & be grateful that there are people like Christopher Green around to help us!!
An excellent introduction to ADHD - By: Margaret S, 19 Sep 2001
As someone who enjoyed the down-to-earth, humerous style of Christopher Green's "Toddler Taming", I was keen to read another of his books. I was not disappointed, & found it informative & clearly written. Having contact with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, & yet knowing little about the subject (apart from occasional sensational stories in the press), I was pleased to be able to get to grips with the subject.

The book is written with both parents & professionals in mind, & goes in to some detail about the diagnosis & possible causes of ADHD, but without being over-complicated. The chapters are clear in their subject matter, covering such issues as the 'history' of ADHD; associated conditions; diagnosis; practical tips on behaviour management; medication; learning difficulties; & debunking the myths. There is deliberately some overlap between chapters, so that the book can be used as a reference manual, & dipped into in order to find specific information.

There is still much debate around the whole issue of ADHD - whether it exists, what it should be callled, how to treat it, who suffers from it etc, & Dr Green acknowledges that he is often stating his own opinion, in the light of his experience. It may be helpful to read other books which offer different opinions, but this book is an excellent starting-off point which will help the reader to understand the basic issues involved.

The bible on ADHD children - By: , 16 Jan 2001
At last someone has written about my child. This book is about real children, their real problem & real life situations. Above alll, it is easy to read. At times it is very funny but at other times it will make make you want to cry. After reading this book I knew how to explain about him to supportive family & friends, as well as how to fight his corner. The book gives insights on ADHD children of a wide age range & helps you as the parent see things from your child's perspective as he grows up. Useful section for teachers. Wholeheartedly recommend this book.
