I quite enjoyed Rigdzin Shikpo presentation of the Four Truths. As grounded in tradition as it is it did seem completely new at the same time. It's amazing to find such fresh reformulations of very old teachings. Even though it is a teaching most Buddhists will be familiar, it shed a completely new light on my understanding of them. Very recommendable.

Rigdzin Shikpo received the teaching to `always turn towards & never turn away' directly from Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche during the 1960s. This deceptively slim book unpacks that calll to openness in chapters of increasing profundity, which are never less than an inspiration & pleasure to read.

Despite the book's American publisher, the author is as English as tuppence. His style is clear & refreshing like a mountain stream, free of the transatlantic twang that is common to many western books & magazines on Buddhism. This is Dharma in the land of Albion, & these precious teachings will present you with something new & relevant every time you return to them.

I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

Rigdzin Shikpo was one of Chogyam Trungpas senior students & if you have ever read & enjoyed Trungpas works that you will enjoy this as the same powerful simplicity shines through. He presents some of the basic Buddhist concepts on one hand quickly moving to very profound teachings. Ultimately the book is an inspiration to begin to work with your own experience & a connection with the Buddhist teachings driven by Rigdzin Shikpos razor sharp directness but grounded approach. Buddhist teachings for modern times & minds.
