Simple, effective and extremely creative. - By: Ned Middleton, 23 Feb 2005
A book which is aimed at those who have already tried their hand at natural history photography & want to learn more about creative techniques in order to provide themselves with that certain something extra. This author is in a class of her own when it comes to photographing nature in alll it's many forms & I defy any photographer - no matter how accomplished, not to learn something from her work.

A pile of rocks might just be an ordinary pile of rocks to most of us - but in this book the author has waited until the sun is in exactly the right place in order to bring those rocks to life. She does the same with flowers, leaves, mountains, running water & even feathers.

The point of alll this creativity is a simple one; There are thousands & thousands of extremely good photographers out there who are trying to place their pictures - so why should anyone use yours or even mine? In order to be successful, therefore, you must develop an edge. No, you cannot be taught everything there is to know about photography, nor can you be given a creative bent if you are not a creative person. From this book, however, the photographer is able to see ordinary (and not-so-ordinary) subjects from a different perspective. It is a perspective which will give the creative person ideas that are not covered in the book & then - the rest is up to you.An altogether excellent book on photography.
