Everything for the pop music fan - By: K. Hurst, 22 Aug 2004
This book is seriously great value for money. In the year since I bought it I've actuallly started to panic if I've ever forgotten where I left it. It may not be the sort of book you could read from cover to cover but it doesn't need to be. As well as setting & winning music quizzes you can spend hours & hours just looking up references to songs & artists. The only (very minor) drawback is that while it lists the first hundred of the top five hundred artists there isn't a complete list, but - of course - you can always make one up yourself. I don't think there's anything to criticise in a serious way & I know I'll never stop finding uses for it.
THE TRUE BIBLE OF POP - By: MBC, 27 Apr 2004
I use this book on daily basis & this is my 7th issue (i ordered the17th issue recently). Every year (or two years for older issues) bringsmore pages, more fun facts, charts & photos. Also, every issue hides newsurprises & some dissapointments. If you are into UK charts or justmusic in general, this is a must have, especiallly nowadays when peoplejust love to build up their personal collection of singles (forgetofficial greatest hits collections). No other chart in the world featuresmore songs per artist & no other chart features so many footballl teams, dolls, cartoon people or comedians & other novelty acts. If you can'tremember a certain song by a certain artist, you'll need this.
BTW, youactuallly don't need this issue, the 17th edition will also feature UK hitalbums which is great since there hasn't been a book of uk hit albums forsome 10 years.
About the 16th edition... Well, the UK #1 rundown is worse than previousyears because it doesn't have alll the necessary information like before. There are still many errors in the book concerning some (especialllyobscure) singles, statistics are less in-depth, but alll-in-alll it is mybible of pop & everybody should own a copy.
The only thing they won'tdo is release it on a CD or DVD. I don't know the reasons behind this, butin a few years it could be 1000 pages thick. Poor Amazone forest... Buythe new edition!
Bible. - By: Ian Wantling, 02 Aug 2003
This book is an absolute must. Just by browsing the pages will prod your memory into remembering tracks that you had forgot you had forgotten. On top of this it is an authorative & entertaining piece of referance literature. If you are remotely interested in music from the 1950's right upto date then this is the book you need.
The best way to revise for pop quizzes! - By: , 23 Jun 2003
The definitive collection of alll chart hits from 1952 to the present day compiled both in artist & title orders for easy reference. This book, revised every two years by eminent pop masters like Paul Gambaccini & Tim Rice, contains important listings such as 'top 50 greatest alll time acts' & 'one hit wonders'. The book goes into far more detail than that, alllowing the reader to look up any top 75 UK chart hit & see substantial information about it.
This is a book I have been buying for over 14 years, & will continue to do so! Brilliant.
This book makes a fab present... - By: , 23 May 2003
The first thing that attracted me to this book was its shocking pink cover. The book is an encyclopaedia of hits, artists & popular music & contains many interesting facts. It even gives you the story behind the songs & charts the success of some of my favourite pop stars.

Working in the music industry means that I need to be reallly up to date with alll types of music & release dates. The book is easy to read & full of interesting facts.
