Just Do It! learn words quickly and easily.. - By: , 31 Mar 2006
This is great... backed up with other learning materials, you get an expansive vocab quickly.

Now I have read one review for the Italian version, by the same author saying that it is a palaver learning the Italian word, associating it with & english word... this just demonstrates a severe lack of imagination, & brain power.

The method is simple, & with perseverence works wel.. Look at the word, & got with the scene given to you by the author to help you remember it.. Give it colours, smells, feeling & the more you do, the easier you will remember... if the scene given does not work, then choose your own... Think of it, picture it for 10 seconds, & then move on to the next. You will be amazed at how quickly you will create a large vocbulary tha you can use confidently...

So ignore the brainless, & get this book.. work at night in bed, & the words will still be there the next morning.. then when you speak the language, when you think of the english word you are trying to translate, the picture will be in your head in a flash, & you will utter it before you realise...

This technique is widespread, & used by magicians like Paul Daniels (who has also had a foray into Language courses) & also the SAS, for remembering information...

Good luck & enjoy!

Very good - By: , 07 Nov 2005
A must for the absolute beginner.
I bought this book together with the CD & found it to be an easy & very quick way to start to learn the basics of Spanish. What a simple but effective way of learning, my only wish is that there were more CDs like this to buy to continue with the learning process.
Spanish by Association ( Link Word ) - By: Leeroy, 07 Mar 2005
I brought this book knowing only a couple of words such as Hola & Adios but i now know lots of words & a bit of grammer IE: Masculine & feminine stuff. Its a good book for complete beginners like me, it makes a good base for starting to learn & i also brought the cd's that you can listen to whenever & the words reallly do stick in your head.
Good Starting Point For Spanish - By: , 03 Jan 2005

Dreadful - don't waste your money - By: Stephen J. Mason, 02 Dec 2004
I was excited by the concept, not that it is a new one. However the way the book is put together it is destroyed.

Fair enough, use association to learn words, but if you don't know how to say the spanish word, or just use words that vaguely sound like the spanish word it isn't going to work.

That is the concept, make it up yourself. It is much better if you do it yourself, & put some logic in it.

The associations are reallly cringy, american & probably not very useful. There is no link between english & spanish derivations, or other languages, no handy hints for spotting words.

For example: if you wanted to remember that cat is gato then think of a cat in a cake..gateaux. The book would say something like think of a circular gate - gate-o which of course is nothing like the pronouncian.

Sorry to be damming but its not even a long book.. beware
