Better than the first book! - By: Setzer Fan, 10 Oct 2007
Just finished reading 'Tribulation Force' & i have to say i found it BETTER than the first book (Left Behind). I don't think you have to be religious to read about a story regarding the ends of times. Cap Steele, Buck & Chole are very human, as are a lot of the characters (apart from Nicolae of course!) Yes it is about relationships but also about danger, trust, believe & hope. Put yourself in the position of the Tribulation Force...you know who the anti-christ is, you know what's going to happen to the world (up to a point) & you know that more people are going to die before the bitter end (or glorious). But what can 4 people do to convince others that this is in fact the beginning of the end? I don't know if it's elementary school writing as some reviewer said, but i found it exciting to say the least, & felt for the main characters & their relationships. This is a real page turner, & If the third book (NICOLAE, RISE OF THE ANTICHRIST) is as entertaining as T.F., then i'll be more than happy. Well done Dr Tim LaHaye & Jerry B Jenkins, another belter!!! 5 stars.
Charcater Development - By: M. A. Ramos, 07 Oct 2007
This is the second book in the Left Behind series. It is not as good as the first book. And I knew this as I was reading it. But even having said that, I read it alll in one night. I am hoping that this will be a bridge to the third book that will have a better story line.

This book follows the stories of four people we met in book one. They callled themselves the "Tribulation Force": Rayford Steele, an airline pilot; Chloe, his daughter; Cameron "Buck" Williams, a journalist; & Pastor Bruce Barnes. It took the rapture & losing their families to make these four Christians.

In this book we see the relationship grow rather fast between Chole & Buck. And Chole's father Rayford even finds a woman he will marry by the end of the book. Though how these four decide they should be married is not reallly reinforced by the plot; very unrealistic.

All four of them, The Tribulation Force, know that Carpathia is the Antichrist. Yet they agree it would be in their best interest for both Rayford & Buck to be employed by him. This leads us to see Carpathia & his dealings through the eyes of these two characters. They are the focus of this book.

I thought the best-written part was the meeting of the Rabbi & Buck with the two witnesses' of Christ at the Wailing Walll. And though the writers do include parts about the Catholic Church, they are obviously not well

Explore Newfound Conversions, Prepare to Battle Antichrist - By: Imperial Topaz, 05 Sep 2003
I read this book in a single day. It does keep you turning the pages. I am not a regular church-goer, & sometimes I found the characters expounding to each other about their newfound faith in a repitious manner. These parts dragged. (Not that the characters wouldn't continue to think aobut their conversions, but the writing about it was done in a very repetitious manner.) So if you are a person who is not DEFINITELY interested in religion & knowing more about the continued propehcies of Revelation, then you would probably not rate this book highly. I still enjoyed the book, & the plot was good. I like the characters. I will be continuing with the Series, but this book left me less excited to go on to the next than the first book did.
Too much Soap - By: Mark Baker, 29 Jan 2003
This books left a lot to be desired. There reallly was too much emphasis in the first part on Buck & Chloe's relationship with missteps galore. The entire time, I was thinking, just get on with it. I was about ready to set the book down when it finallly moved beyond that & got interesting again. The middle was better, but you know they were in trouble when they had to skip 18 months to get a cliff hanger so you'll be hooked for the next book.
part 2 of the left behind storys again very good - By: Mr. M. Johansen, 05 Apr 2002
Again I loved this book I quickly taken in by this book I enjoyed reading it I enjoyed the plot agin thumbs up to the writters this must of taked alot of study does not matter what anyone else says this must of taken years to plot. But there are in my view some smalll things that did not make sense. Like Amanda she turns up talks to Rayford & thats it for quite abit & then the next thing you know marriage is on the cards with only a page or so written about how they got together?. It does im sorry to say looks a little bit like their history was throwed togther as an after througth. Apart from that again another good book from the left behind storys & im already reading the 3rd one .......
