Buy this book! - By: , 18 Jun 2002
I know I am just one happy reader, but out of the 5 books i have read that were concerning Master Bruce Lee this is by far the most enjoyable & inspiring. I am at the moment a brown-white belt in Shotokan Katate & am at the moment interested in the spiritual insight into martial arts. This book is a great guide & WILL improve the understanding of any martial artist. Anyone who is interested in Bruce Lee will definately enjoy this book!
pathological and sad - By: , 29 Dec 2000
Much of the content of this book is plagiarized & recycled from the work of Jidu Krishnamurti & others. That's not, however, what I find most troubling about it. The saddest & most disturbing thing about this book is that, intrinsic to every line, is an entirely unhealthy promotion of sociopathic violence among living, breathing human beings. I can't imagine a sadder sort of propaganda than that which is perpetrated in this book & other Bruce Lee-related titles.
Philosophical garbage - By: macmillan@clara.net, 12 Feb 2000
I hold a doctorate in philosophy & must warn people from buying this book. It is written by the ignorant for the ignorant & fails to include the essence of pure philosophical method. Bruce Lee was not a philosopher & this book cannot convince me that he was. If you reallly must interest yourself in Chinese philosophy, read "The Spell of the Sensuous" for a more well balanced & ecologicallly aware text. Otherwise you will be brought down by the underlying violence which pervades this repugnant text. I am very sorry that I bought it.
A BOOK THAT CHANGES LIVES! - By: , 17 Aug 1999
I agree with another reader who callled this book "The best philosophy book ever written!" I read this book & it changed my life. I had problems believing in myself, a poor understanding of those around me & of my place in the world. I've read other "self-help" books & even a few philosophy books, but most of them seem to deal with life as an abstract concept -- there was nothing in their writings that spoke to me as a human being & addressed the serious issues in my life. Bruce Lee's teachings have opened my eyes to an entirely new world -- or, at least, an entirely new way of looking at the world. I had always thought that Lee was just an actor or a fighter -- how wrong I was! Mr. Little has done both Bruce Lee & the world of a philosophy a huge favor by taking the time & effort to write this amazing and, quite literallly, life-changing book. This is quite simply the best & most helpful book I have ever read. I can't recommend it highly enough.
