As a Hong Kong resident for the past thirteen years I was delighted to see this beautiful book re-released. Hong Kong has changed greatly since it was first published & yet there are so many wonderful features of Hong Kong life depicted beautifully in the book which still exist. There is an update at the back of the book to show how Hong Kong has changed but in essence it is a celebration of this wonderful, vibrant territory & a great meditation on the fusion of old & new; east & west.

Despite the title, this is reallly no longer Hong Kong. Though there is nothing on the Amazon site to indicate it, the book is a re-issue of a 1965 text. Perhaps nowhere in the world has changed as much since 1965 as Hong Kong, so the title is utterly misleading. Caveat emptor!!
