(By the way, the router simulation program is barely adequate - it doesn't have any of the advanced commands to use after the CCNA - so it's questionable as to whether you reallly want to fork out the extra money for it.)
Anyway, I started my CCNP with Routing. I knew the book from start to finish & did well on the practice tests, but the real test asked stuff that was not even covered in Lammle's book. I ended up passing it anyway, but not with a huge margin.
Today I barely (probably one or two questions) DIDN'T pass my Switching after reallly knowing the prep guide cover to cover. It is true that the test changed (I know not how, but it is 640-604 rather than 640-504), but there was stuff that was not even mentioned in the Sybex book. Things that the book had seemed to emphasize were not even tested.
So, my final recommendation? I would say that this book might be ONE of the books you might want to buy for preparing yourself, but it probably shouldn't be the only one. I can't speak for the Remote Access & Support volumes as yet, but I will definitely buy other material as well.
