It is split roughtly 50:50 between tutorial & "Master's Reference" sections. The former is very adequate & clear, with useful notes on practical & legal considerations in site design & preparation; the latter is a god-send, since it lists & explains every HTML command together with a comprehensive list of attributes (with examples, syntax & degree of support in different browsers).
The book also provides enough basic JavaScript & CSS for the "occasional user", & has useful appendices on HTML extended character & colour codes.
If I have a criticism, it is only that the page formatting of the master reference could be a little clearer. It will be interesting to see what the 300 or so extra pages in the Premium Edition of this book have to offer (if not larger print!). As I'm about to order a copy, I may write a follow-up review answering that point.
