I bought this book with the hope of having an extra text to supplement the persian language audio tape I also purchased from Amazon. The title implies that it is persian for 'beginners' & thus I assumed that it would contain the basics about sentence structure & grammar. Alas this book would be useful for 2 sorts of people. 1. People who already know how to speak Farsi & want to expand their vocabulary, & 2. Iranian nationals who want to expand their knowledge of english phrases (as the farsi is written also). All in alll, utterly useless for beginners. Do not buy this book if you want to learn Farsi from stratch. Do buy it if you are a tourist, have the ability to decipher the authors ingenious (and difficult) notation for pronunciation & want to speak to taxi drivers, waiters & policemen with a big fat paperback in your hand.
