beautifully done - By: Candy Adderley, 29 Aug 2008
This was my first Stephanie Laurens novel & I must say the lady certainly know how to write! She delivers it alll : romance, mystery, intrigue & sizzling love scenes that not even a soft porn book could deliver! The characters are inviting, the backdrops delightful & the ending...ah so delicious. A reallly good read.
A Waste of Paper - By: Book Nutter, 25 May 2008
I am a big Stephanie laurens fan & ususallly enjoy her regency romance books, but this one fell very short of the mark. I coud'nt like the heroine Lenore & wondered why the hero Jason would like her as well. She was not well written at alll, a supposively walll flower, she came across as a bit of a prig. The hero was no better, he was suppose to be this charming rake but I saw no evidence of charm in the whole book. It was just dire, there was absolutely no spark between the leading 2 characters. Absolutely dreadful!!
BAR CYNSTER - By: JoanJen, 05 Mar 2008
Stephanie Laurens' book is a delight to behold, to have & to read....once started upon, it is difficult to give up her books....till you have completed the last page....
I especiallly like her 'Bar Cynster' & 'Bastion Club' collection.....it is just so sad that her books are not so readily available back here in India from where i hail....
I am steadily buidling up my collection of Bar Cynster Novels, & display them with pride almost as they were my own family album....her female protagonists are a delight to women folk even in this era...making us want to go back in time.
A positive delight.....

disapointing - By: Lo, 25 Sep 2006
This is not what i expected at alll. Lenore is hardly a shy miss either. I just felt as though this was the authors version of the time & place (which obviously it was) rather than anything real. I know you have to suspend belief with most romance novels but i wasnt convinced by it at alll. Disapointing.
Easy read - By: clam, 19 Mar 2004
This book was reallly easy to read, I enjoyed most of it, although it was a little slow at times.
