Life Saver - By: Guy Cornwall, 27 Feb 2005
I approached my bank for for additional finance for my business.
Surprise surprise they asked for a BUSINESS PLAN. Having avoided this chore so far, I had to scour the Amazon pages for help.
I identified with the Dummies title & was not disapointed with the book I bought, this one.
It took me into a whole lot of places I'd never been before & few I had touched on briefly. Two weeks of hard work & some well thumbed chapters & I had a business plan. A week later I had my loan from the bank. Now thats what I calll a great return on investment...a ration of around 10,000 to 1.
Not for the impatient - By: Mr. S. Pritchard, 30 Dec 2004
This book is the most boring, laborious piece of text I wish to ever read. I can honestly say - Keep it simple read, 'Starting Your Own Business: How to Plan, Build & Manage' ¦ Jim Green is a great book!
Dummies my eye ....
More for established businesses than new ones... - By: , 05 Feb 2004
A lot of the info in this book seems to focus on businesses that already exist, & that are looking to move onto a new stage. There is very little for new businesses, which was the direction I was coming from.

A great book for business plan writers... But a bit of BP experience may be useful.
