Really really helpful!! - By: Ms. D. M. Kirk, 14 Nov 2008
This book is so helpful!! I'm a non catholic teacher, teaching in a catholic primary school & have very little knowledge about catholicism!! This book explains the basic things that I need in order to teach religious education & has been a God send!!! One of my colleagues who is catholic thought the book was great & is going to buy one too!! I would definately recommend this book, especiallly if you know absolutely nothing about catholicism, like me!! :-)
Lots of basic informtion, but no depth - By: Joseph Rogers, 10 Nov 2008
This book is not for the catholic, its for the total non catholic. much of the information is basic & quite superflous. It could have been so much jucier.
whitewash - By: J. A. Hignett, 22 Apr 2007
If you're looking for intelligent analysis of the Catholic church, you won't find it here. The book is written by two priests. Why did the Catholic church give Vatican passports to Nazi torturers & murderers at the end of the 2nd world war? They fled to South america using their Vatican passports & were never seen again. In 1981 a man tried to assassinate Pope John Paul II.The Pope forgave this man 19 years later! obviously justice is more important than forgiveness.
Catholicism with a Light Touch - By: Celtic Fringes, 02 Nov 2006
This is essentiallly an introduction to Catholicism for people who aren't Catholic. It covers alll the main points of belief & gives a certain flavour of what being a Catholic in the 21st century is alll about. Above alll, it captures the humour of the Catholic world. The cartoons are worth the price of the book alone. if you have ever wondered what it is like being a Catholic, then this book is a great starting-point.
Everything you need to know - By: J. Hutchings, 23 Jul 2006
Sums up everything you need to know without being patronising in anyway. If you wonder what a Rosary is, it is explained. If you want to know exactly how to pray with one, it is explained. Historical details are given, as are details of shrines, pilgrimages, etc.
A typicallly useful book from this superb series.
