Very useful for musicians and people learning about MP3s - By: peterjones@eudoramail.com, 26 Jul 2001
This book is aimed at musicians & people who wish to find out what alll the fuss is about MP3s. It briefely covers some of the theory behind MP3 technology, but is mostly a practical guide on how to get those tunes playing. Musicians can learn how to use MP3s to reach a wider audience (and possibly do it profitably).

Andy Rathbone has extensive experience of MP3s & has included numerous useful tips that only one with insider knowledge could have gained.

One problem with a book on this subject is that the technology is moving so fast that the software / hardware covered in the book is very rapidly out of date. This is not a book for people who wish to have an up to date reference guide for state of the art MP3 technology.

It is, however, a very good book for those looking for a practical guide on how to start listening to MP3s.
