This book helps you in such an easy way. I've always found the 'For Dummies' series very useful but this is just fantastic. I was also pleased with the speed of Amazon's service.
I found a few smalll glitches at first with bits of it, but alll in alll i give this a full 100%.
The funnest, easiest to read programming book available!! - By: , 12 Jan 2000
After reading this book, I felt confident that I could program, knowing that I understood each tool. This book is a great read & nothing is found to be hard to understand. All subjects are approached in an easy to understand method, which is fun! His wording isn't alll boring! He makes it so simple to understand, & it covers enough topics to get you started. I'm glad I bought this book, & I recommend anyone starting out should consider this as a starting point!
Solid for Start - By: , 06 Aug 1999
For real programmers & serious VB developers, this is definetely far from being enough. However, for begginers in VB this is useful guide. The only thing I mind is that there is a focus on GUI rather than code itself but that is what this book teaches you--just basic understanding. I wouldn't be able to write serious program for my company by reading only this book. If you have experience with programming get higher level book & you will be able to pick it up. I suggest VB & VBA from O'Reilly or Garry Cornell's VB 6 from Ground Up...

Excellent for Newbies, but don't expect more!!!!!! - By: , 21 Jun 1999
I found this to be a great start for someone who was just familar with the windows enviroment. I found it to be a little disappointing when it came to anything more than the basics though. If you are looking for a book to get your feet wet, then this is the book for you. If you are looking for something with databasing or active-X in mind, get a different book.

P.S. If you are a newbie, I would suggest buying this book first, that's why I gave it the 4 stars..
