Great Value - By: Sonia, 10 Oct 2008
If you're going to buy these books you should keep in mind that the quality is not as good as the bigger, more expensive books & the print is a lot smalller.
I was aware of this when I bought the product so got exactly what I was expecting.
They have everything the bigger books have, alll the same information & they're a lot cheaper. So I have no complaints at alll.
Not as bad as people say!! - By: Ms. Shelley Rodgers, 03 Jul 2008
I'm surprised people are buying these books for £14.99 & are disappointed! At the end of the day you get what you pay for!
These books are pretty much the same price as one of The Sims guide books & you get alll 7 & they are complete. Yes they aren't colour & the writing is smalll but you CAN read them, they are fully usable!
You can hardly expect them to be the same quality. They had to do something to get the price down.
I love them they are cheap & cheerful & they do the job! Just don't expect them to be as good as the bigger versions though.
Useful - By: Mrs. Natalie Humberstone, 28 Feb 2008
The writing is very smalll on the books but I feel that with the Sims you don't reallly need to buy guides. However, if you are like me & are still struggling to create a werewolf, & have difficulties in other aspects of the game, then these books prove to be quite useful.
I would not necessarily read them alll the way through, but like a dictionary these books provide useful explainations to the games & add ons.
PC Magazine cover guide??? - By: Dave the Rave, 15 Feb 2008
After receiving these guides for my wife, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of these guides. The guides are of a quality of which would be given away FREE with computer magazines, which is to say, very poor paper, extremely hard to read. Although the size is given for the guides, no mention is made of an easily understandable size, eg. A4, A5. The fact that the guides are printed in black & white is not mentioned either. After looking at the Prima site ref. the guides, these facts are not mentioned. I think that Amazon should print a warning that these guides are only useful if your vision is over 100% perfect. This product is not recommended, & definitely not up to Amazon's usual high standards!!
OK if you are missing one... - By: TickleOnTheTum, 07 Dec 2007
These guides are exactly the same as their larger counterparts, but shrunk down to paperback book size. When I say shrunk I mean that literallly! Each page from the original A4 size books has been photo reduced to this new size. The upshot of this is that the writing is tiny, & I mean reallly tiny. It is at about the limit of what can be read without some sort of magnifying aid. This makes it quite difficult to read, & the screenshots are the size of postage stamps. The cheap quality of the paper used doesn't help the situation, nor does the fact that these books are not to scale so the pages are stretched by a fair bit verticallly to make them fit the new page size.
These are ideal if you can't get hold of the originals (I was unable to get the Open for Business one) but are not reallly a replacement for them.
Also bear in mind that there are 2 more Expansion Packs for The Sims 2 yet to be released so this is not a 'complete' collection & the remaining 2 will probably never be released on their own at this size.
