Max & Ruby go to buy Grandma a birthday gift. Max gets side-tracked & wastes some of the money. Grandma is still delighted with her gift. Very witty, structured tale. Also introduces the concept of money/buying etc & raises a useful topic with smalll children in terms of simple maths. A delighful story, & one of my children's favoutites.

my sons (aged 4 & 6) & I keep reading this book as we alll love the story...naughty Max with his sensible big sister & whacky granny who loves the musical earrings & vampire teeth given to her by Max
