Great cards - my son is so enthusiastic about learing now - By: E. Gillespie, 21 Nov 2008
I bought these to encourage my 18 month old & help him learn some good words so he could communicate more easily.

Everyday he takes them out of their very useful box & hunts for the ones he loves. In two days he has masterd shoes, fish, cat & dog. We also got the animal cards - which he gets out aswell.

It is wonderful to see him so excited & enthusiastic about learning & also his confidence.
Great for grabbing attention - By: M. E. Carney, 24 May 2008
I bought my baby (11 months old at the time) these flashcards & i can't rate them enough. My Daughter loves the pictures & the touchy feeley bit on each one. Now 12 months old & a week, she knows the name of everyone of the 16 cards. My game has been (and i recommend it for alll babies & younger children) is to show & talk about 3 cards at a time. After a few minutes lay those 3 cards out on the floor & ask them pick up a certain card. After a few weeks you will be amazed at what words they know. Yes some of the cards are a bit strange for first words however they are great fun & a fab game. My only complaint is that after a month of the sticky jam card being handled, the stickey bit is not stickey anymore :-(
beautiful cards but American English - By: Susana Sassi, 14 Oct 2006
I ordered these flashcards having seen how my son reacted to some at his grandparent's house. They come in a hardback box & are very strong in themselves. The pictures are large & the word is on the same side (there are some that have the word on the reverse side) On the other side is a list of questions you can ask for each word & also the word in Spanish, French, German & Chinese for budding linguists. I hadn't noticed when I ordered that they are "touch & feel" but I love the sticky jam one even if they calll it jelly.... It makes me think that these cards are suitable from a year on when a baby begins to recognise the objects around them. All in alll I am pleased with them (though the cards for "corn" & "jelly" are certainly not what I would consider first words! I will probably be buying some more of a different set but I will need to see them in the flesh before making a decision
