Great read - By: Jax, 11 Apr 2007
I had previously read some of the later Alex Delaware books & decided to start at the beginning of the series to find out the history of Alex, Robin & Milo. It was well worth it - these books are a great read & When the Bough Breaks provides the history of Alex's medical background, how he first meets Milo & the beginning of their friendship, & also his initial romance with Robin. Well worth the read. Go & buy it!!
A great read!! - By: , 06 Feb 2003
OK picture the scene....on holiday & you;ve just finished the last page of your book with two days & a flight left to go....what do you do..thats how I picked up When The Bough Breaks. A little local supermarket & it had a few of the Jonathan Kellerman novels. I picked the first one & was anything but disappointed. The book moves with pace & keeps you intrigued. The story is nasty but thats what grips you. The characters have depth & I'm sure they will develop through the rest of the Alex Delaware novels. Not much else to say. If you like this type of novel then you'll like this. And as for the end..........well read it & find out.
Dreary. - By: DiBosco, 08 Aug 2001
I'd read & rather enjoyed Billy Straight by Kellerman, but was very disppointed by this book. Written in the first person, the "hero" is way too perfect & has a reallly tedious Sarah Jane Smith type girlfriend who is also way too perfect. The writing style is poor; the story a wee bit plodding; some of the things the main character does are way too stupid for someone of his supposed intelligence.

There are far better books of this genre about.

Nothing short of BRILLIANT! - By: , 02 Dec 1999
Kellerman prooves with this novel that he is the master of psychological thrillers. The plot is complex, humourous, violent & entertaining. Delaware has to be one of the most enjoyable charachter creations for many years. This is a book that just has to be read!
