Having read "Die for Me" which was absolutely brilliant - I bought this one "Scream for Me" expecting the same writing techinique & brilliance as Die for Me.
I was completely disappointed to see that Karen Rose had reverted to her alll intense fantasy sex & romance scenes which, to me, actuallly overtake & spoil the plot of the story! In my opinion I found it complete rubbish & boring in places & hard going reading wise. Some pages I actuallly skipped, ie when it went into lengthy heavy breathing and, for example, "he ran his hand up her thigh", "she could feel his hardness pressing against her" etc, etc, .. this is a crime novel, not a Mills & Boons! I remember in one of her earlier books, there was one point when she wrote, quote"
"As he walked into the room, she felt her nipples go erect"
Unquote.
I mean - come on, what a load of tripe! That did deter me from her books as I don't go in for the Mills & Boon type stories at alll. But Die for Me was highly rated, so I tried it & it was absolutely excellent; she cut the sex scenes down & concentrated on the actual story plot which was extemely innovative & new.
Added to that, in Scream for Me, no detective worth their salts would share alll the details of a multiple-copycat murder investigation of this level with a potential victim. Shame.
I reallly enjoyed Die for Me .. her writing was unique on that & she played the sex/lovey-dovey scens down. I have nothing against love scence in a book but when I buy a crime/police procedural thriller, I expect it to be that & not filled with fantasy sex & rubbish like that.
I have lost interest in the book, but will finish it anyway, but it is a complete let down on her previous book.

This is the sequel to Die for Me & the second of a trilogy. It doesn't disappoint although I believe Die for Me is better. The characters main characters are well drawn out as well as the secondary ones. In fact you care just as much about the secondary characters Bailey & Beardsley as you did the main! I have read alll of Karen Rose's books & look forward to the sequel of this Kill for me

This latest one is brilliant. Couldn't put it down & that's a compliment coming from me. Story line is superb & follows on from previous book brilliantly. Highly advise any Karen Rose fan to buy this as soon as you can. Looking forward to the next one.
excellent - By: textqueen, 10 Jun 2008 i reallly enjoed this book it was brill. ive read alll of karen roses other books but this one was the best by far. i love the way get to keep in touch with the other book so it also ties up some loose ends.
if you have not read any of karens books before start with die for me then scream for me, it was simply the best book ive read in long time.
ANOTHER FIRST CLASS THRILLER - By: M. Evans, 10 Jun 2008 Brilliant sequel which builds successfully on Karen's previous book. What I love about Karen's writing is that you actuallly care about the people in her books. Her plots are complex but believable & her decriptive style makes you feel as if you are present at the same time as her characters - which gives you goosebumps when reading the detailed descriptions of the crime scenes! The only complaint I have about this book is that I read it too quickly. One of the best books I have read for a long time.
