Good but not upto the author's usual standard - By: Cecily Thomas, 09 Mar 2008
This was a good story but I agree with one other reviewer that it just lacked "meat". Having said that if you enjoy Rachel Gibson then its well worth a read.
Im In No Mood For Love - you will be! - By: Nems, 08 Dec 2007
"I'm In No Mood For Love" is the second story of three so far about a group of four writers & friends. It has several references to the one previous - Sex Lies & Online Dating (worth reading!).
This book is an easy to relate to book, who hasn't been hurt by love, had a little too much to drink & woken up thinking - How did I get here??
Claire Wingate wakes up in a hotel room to the sounds of the shower running & a guys clothes on the hotel chair. The clothes that do not belong to her fiancé... It alll comes flooding back into her hung over brain... Bridesmaid at her friends wedding, forcing a smile on her face & plying herself with drink to numb the pain & humiliation of finding her fiancé in a compromising position with the washing machine repair MAN! Could things get any worse?
The guy in her shower is Sebastian Vaughan, the sexy grown up version of her childhood menace. The same person who terrified her as a child by telling her how babies were reallly made albeit a little dramatised, & not the gooseberry bush version either.
Although the plot is quite typical - girl meets boy etc but I think it takes the reader through so many emotions. You can reallly feel how devastated Claire was to find her fiancé like that & how she tries so hard not to falll back into her ways of finding comfort in another's body heat.
I wanted & easy read for the work commute & I found this book completely by chance. This was my first Rachel Gibson novel & the first in a now rather large Little Black Dress (publications) collection.
Although it isn't my favourite Rachel Gibson novel, (it was great for an introduction to 'chick lit') it made me smile & kept me turning the page wanting more. As I have now discovered, Rachel Gibson is certainly one to turn up the heat in the moment. As ever, this one is steamy!
I did find it a little difficult to get into at first, but it reallly kept my attention after the first chapter or two. I wanted to know how they were doing & what could possibly happen next.
In my opinion, if the synopsis appeals, read it! I wasn't disappointed!
don't listen to the other reviews! - By: Ms. S. Morgan, 12 Jul 2007
when i was browsing through amazon & saw this book i read alll of the other reviews that practicallly said that it wasn't great & to not waste my time. well, i took a leap of faith & bought it. i am soooo glad i did. this book is funny, witty, sexy & the characters are so likeable. there is a part near the end that actuallly made me cry! so, i think you should read the synopsis & if it sounds good to you i can probably guarantee that you're going to like it if you love romantic fiction that makes you feel good at the end.
Really enjoyed this. - By: Sian Louise, 23 Apr 2007
This is my second Rachel Gibson book & I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying it. The two main characters Clare & Sebastian are very well written - the sex scenes (well if you have read her books before we know how well written they are lol), I think overalll the storyline was very good & something some ppl could probably relate to. Starting a sexual relationship not expecting it to go anywhere & then realising that you have actuallly falllen for them a few months down the line.
If you like her books, then definately give this a go :)
good but not the usual steamy!!! - By: Lindymck, 28 Jan 2007
typical plot, boy meets girl, they fight etc. held my attention since i read it in 2 hours. liked the little details from other of her books, mentioning of Truly & meeting with Jane, cheeky touch.
