Brilliant - By: Lovin romance and chick lit!, 24 Nov 2008
This book had everything that you could possibly want in a romantic read. Humour, as well as secrets that we want hidden! There is also fights etc which are also quite entertaining to read about. I don't know what else to say except if you are thinking about getting this book to read, read other Rachel Gibson books first because then you will appreciate this book alll the more.
A little obvious, but still a great read! - By: L. Felthouse, 25 Mar 2008
Having never read A Little Black Dress book before, I had no idea what to expect. I'd also never read a book by Rachel Gibson before, so I started reading Daisy's Back in Town with a completely open mind.

Daisy's Back in Town is the tale of - yes, you've guessed it - Daisy Monroe. She's arrived back in Lovett, Texas after fifteen years away. And things have changed big style. Daisy left town after marrying her lover's best friend, & after the death of her husband she's back to put a few things straight. You see, when Daisy left town she was pregnant with her childhood sweetheart's baby. Thing is, Jack Parrish had just lost both his parents in a horrific car crash, & rather than relying on Daisy for support, he pushes her away.

Pregnant & terrified, Daisy confides in her other best friend, Steven, who promptly offers to marry her. Both Jack & Steven have been in love with Daisy for a long time, & Steven never had any idea about Daisy's relationship with Jack until she confessed she was pregnant. But he does the honorable thing, & they marry. Needless to say, Jack is less than impressed, & they leave town to have a life together, with Steven bringing up Jack's child.

Jack is left heartbroken & vows never to let a woman get close enough to him emotionallly to hurt him like Daisy did. Trouble is, he wasn't betting on Daisy blasting back into his life with a big announcement - that Nathan is his son, not Steven's. As the truth comes tumbling out, everyone involved is thrown into turmoil, & life in Lovett will never be the same.

I reallly enjoyed this book. Although the eventual plot developments were a little obvious, it was incredibly well written, funny & sexy. The descriptions of sexual chemistry & the act itself were very hot, without being graphic or obscene. Definitely more naughty than your average chick-lit. I thought alll the characters were well portrayed & I felt myself rooting for some, & booing others off the stage (theoreticallly of course). This book didn't totallly rock my world because as I said, I saw the ending coming, but I enjoyed it cover to cover & would read a book by this author again, no questions asked.
Rachel Gibson You've done it again!! - By: Cecily Thomas, 07 Mar 2008
I've read almost everything by Rachel Gibson & Daisy's Back in Town is one of her best. I didn't want the book to finish, & I couldn't put it down. People who write reviews & say the story is unbelievable & this would never happen etc etc., should get real, this is pure escapist romantic fiction & as such it hits the spot. It was funny, sad, sexy & memorable & I will be keeping it to read again & again. Rachel Gibson you are the best!!
back in town and here to stay - By: Ms. S. Morgan, 18 Jul 2007
i reallly liked this book & think it has got very unfair reviews by some others. i understood daisy's reasons for doing what she did in the book, maybe didnt agree with them myself but i understood & sympathised. she is also a reallly likeable character as is Jackson who is the hero of this book. i also undertsand why he is angry about what she did. what you have to understand though is that being eighteen, in that situation & not thinking he loved you nemore...well it would scare you out of alll logical reason. besides the "secret" that almost everyone could guess anyway, this book is very addictive to read, & fast-paced. the characters are easy to like & you wish them together every moment. the sex scenes are sizzling & the ending is so lovely you are left with a big ol' smile on your face. my advice? read the synopsis & if it sounds like something you'd like read it. don't listen to alll other ppl who just come to slag a book off on the internet. i thought it was GREAT!
A great read - By: xlynsx, 14 Jan 2007
This book as got to be the best book i've read i a long time. When reading of the character of jack to can see that he as trust problems, which have prevented him from finding love, & when the only person in his life he has ever been in love with, comes back into town he does he dame hardest to stay away from her, but daisy has other ideas.
There were times in the book i wanted to bash Jack & Daisy round the head, because it's so clear that they are in love with each other but don't want to do anything about it beacuse of their history.

I've given this book four stars as it reallly is a great book but i felt it was a bit rusted at the end, but i would recommend this book to anyone who has loved & lost but then found it again.
