I reallly reallly enjoyed this book. It's my second Jill Mansell, & half way through it I came on Amazon & ordered a further 5 of her books. That's how good a writer she is. I'm aiming to own alll her books.
Anyway, the characters in this book are fab. I completely was in love with Jake & Kerr. And, I hated Kate for the first half of this book, But i grew to love her too. Jill Mansell has a fabulous way of having lots of different characters, but never getting you confused with who is who. She even givs the pets their part, & now I want a bulldog callled Norris!
Also, I fully understood why Marcella was angry towards the McKinnon's, so I never thought it was petty. This book had quite a few shocks in it too that took the story on another exciting twist which added to the fun. And it was never predictable shocks either, totallly un-expected! You also find yourself rooting for the characters, when they are going through tough times you reallly want things to get better for them
If i have any criticism it is that at the end of the book, the pregnant character (who I dont want to reveal so I dont spoil it) has still not had her baby so we never know the sex. I think the book could of had one last short '6 months later' chapter. But apart from that it is a truly perfect read. Jill Mansell is officiallly my favourite author & I cant wait to read the rest of her books.
Very light and very easy to read - By: Karen G, 13 Sep 2007 This is my first Jill Mansell book. I found it incredibly easy to read straight from p.1. The story is light & breezy & has a lovely happy ending for everyone. A great tube read. I'm now on to the rest of her books.
Amazing! - By: Bookworm, 08 Sep 2007 Alright, i have never read one of Jill Mansell's books before, a friend of mine lent it to me as a summer read & it was amazing!!! So in turn I lent it to my friend who also adored it & it's currently passing through my friends! You feel like you know alll the characters, & you feel as if you yourself have lived in the smalll town for years! And the fact that it views every characterts perspective makes the book even more intresting! It made me laugh, cooo & cry with alll my heart:) although i wanted to know more at the end about Kerr & Maddy it gives you an oppurtunity to fill in the rest of there lives on your own! Definetly a good read for those who are looking!
FAB! - By: Curlybing, 20 Aug 2007 This is the fist Jill Mansell I have read & it wont be the last. It is a cracking holiday read & had me hooked from the first page. Her writing style is easy & detailed. I finished it in a few days & as always the way when you have finished a good book; I wanted it to carry on! I reallly wanted to know what happened to Maddy & Kerr! For an easy "chick lit" holiday read; this is definitley recommended.

The characters were warm and/or engaging, even the flawed ones. the central premise was such a strong one: you could reallly understand what keeps Kerr & Maddy apart. There is a lot of magic wand-waving at the end, but I still cried several times. Loved it.
