An enjoyable, easy read. - By: Wendy Evans, 02 May 2008
I finished this last night, although it has taken me a while because of lack of time I did enjoy this book. It is typicallly easy reading chick lit that follows a similar vein to many of her other books centering around one main character. I have read quite a few of her books now & I think I may be starting to find some of them a little 'samey' as I found this very similar in some ways to "Staying at Daisy's" although it wasn't based in a hotel as that was.

The characters are very likeable, although somewhat 'dippy' they are your typical 'ordinary' people. She doesn't build much of a picture of the area it is set in though, which I would have liked as I've never been to Cornwalll, although this opinion may not be shared by someone who knows the area as it is entirely possible I have missed it, but apart from references to the views, beach & surfing I didn't get a picture of the location at alll from this.

Jill's main characters, based on the books I've read so far, alll seem to be rather 'dippy' females with a penchant for the ridiculous. They are alll very likeable but many of them have similar traits which is what in my opinion makes them a little 'samey'. However, she does seem to instill in them alll a very good sense of humour & Millie is no exception to that.

Although things do go wrong for the characters they are generallly alll living in a nice & reasonably safe 'little world' which despite it's many twists & turns it alll ultimately works out in the end.

All in alll I would say a predictable (well for a Jill Mansell fan anyway) but enjoyable & amusing novel that came together in the end, although at times you did feel like shaking the main characters & telling them to get on with it.

I absoulty love jills books & honestly people who give them any less than 3 stars i can just say to them READ MORE BOOKS. because this lady is amazing on how she captures you & how everyone can relate to her books in some way or another. Evenyone likes different stories & yes theres gona be one you dont like but i say read more of them & you'll b hooked honestly. My fav has to be perfect timeing, but this is just as good. i think most people might agree with me. IF not go read it :)
Ok but disappointed - By: Kirsty, 25 Sep 2007
Unlike the other reviewers, I was actuallly disappointed with this book. I usuallly reallly enjoy Jill's books & read them very quickly, this one however I reallly struggled to get through. I didn't particularly warm to the characters that much & found it alll very predictable. However, the book was well written & a good book to read on holiday, just not as enjoyable as her other books such as 'Fast Friends' 'Solo' 'Kiss' 'Sheer Mischief' etc!
Best Jill mansell book ever - By: Robert Burge, 05 Jul 2006
Millies fling was the first Jill Mansell book I read, & I have now read them alll. It's the book that got me hooked on Jill mansell. All her books have been great but this was the best. If you like these, also read Marian Keyes books & Adle Parkes -a must read of hers is 'Husbands' by Adle Parks thats the one that got me into her books too! You wont go wrong choosing any of Jill's books for a good flight/holiday read.
