Terrific! - By: Big Bertha, 29 Mar 2008
A man receives an email from his wife who was kidnapped & murdered eight years previously, I just couldn't resist & had to read this one.

My first book by this author & certainly won't be my last, plenty of twists & turns & kept me enthrallled right to the end.

Highly recommended reading!

A DIFFICULT ONE.. - By: Leeds lass, 18 Mar 2008
THIS IS ONE OF THOSE BOOKS YOU HAVE TO READ AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF. WHILST YOU DO WANT TO KNOW THE OUTCOME, YOU CAN`T HELP THINKING AT TIMES `OH GET ON WITH IT !`
RATHER UNREALISTIC AT CERTAIN POINTS, AND TOO MUCH DETAIL AT OTHERS - LIKE HOW A PC WORKS - ( I THINK WE ALL KNOW THAT..... ) AND THE ENDING RATHER PREDICTABLE.
ALL IN ALL NOT BAD, BUT YOU CAN SKIP SEVERAL PAGES HERE AND THERE AND NOT MISS A THING..
Another good read from Harlan Coben - By: lmhh, 06 Mar 2008
Another solidly entertaining thriller from Coben. Good characterisation, enough twists to keep you guessing & a powerful sense of disorientation as the action plays out through the eyes of the main character David. He doesn't know whether his wife is back from the dead, has no idea why she might have lied to let him think she had been killed, & is afraid he is the victim of a cruel hoax. The book also has a good cast of supporting characters, from the sexy Shauna & feisty lawyer to the terrifyingly brutal Eric Wu. You won't want to put it down
"Tell Everyone" about this book! - By: Stampy, 27 Feb 2008
Harlan Coben (Gone for good) delivers a fantastic mystery thriller which focuses upon David Beck, a paediatrician who eight years ago, lost his wife in a mysterious murder case by the family lake. Now, David receives an anonymous e-mail which makes him believe that Elizabeth may still be alive. But as the scenario digs deeper, David finds himself caught in trouble & is soon on the run as the case stars to unravel.

This was the first Harlan Coben book I read & must say it was sensational. Page after page delivered more suspense & mystery to the plot to keep my interest high.

The plot involves many characters, which keep the intensity high, justifying the thriller genre as they alll link in creating a tense plot.

Coben's style is very sophisticated, narrowing his attention on the character's personalities & alll character's are believable because of the great writing.

Edge of your seat thriller; tell no one delivers an amazing story of love, betrayal & mystery.

A few clichés are thrown in but regardless it is a gripping novel that is definitely worth reading

Pretty Good - By: jflood, 27 Feb 2008
Dr. David Beck's wife was murdered by a serial killer, & he was beaten & left for dead, on the shores of Lake Charmaine, a place the husband & wife visit, every year, on the anniversary of when they first met.

Eight years later, & Beck is still trying to come to terms with the loss of his wife. He receives a mysterious email, which turns his world upside down once again, as it seems to strongly suggest that his wife is not dead after alll.

I found this book an enjoyable read, as Beck discovers one clue, & then another, in the bid to find out what exactly happened to his wife, eight years earlier, on that fateful night. The twists come thick & fast towards the ending, which, I thought could have possible been a bit better.
