slim little volume but very useful - By: M. Notman, 09 Apr 2007
ok, ill admit i only bought this because i fancy henry chapman rotten, but once you get past the base instincts this is a very useful little book for anyone interested in the future of archaeology- because lets face it the days of digging (much) stuff up are limited. Its certainly not a book for the general reader but for current (and ex like me) archaeologists its a way to peak into the techno-babble of geosciences that often confuses us! His language (although scholarly) is not obtuse, & the slimness of the volume means it isnt scary (try reading some of the behomoths ive started & not finished).
Plus buying it means he can get some razor blades & cut off that silly beard hes trying to grow. A plus alll round i think!

Good as an introduction - By: Per Kalott, 25 Jan 2007
A jargon-free & easily read book, but reallly only scratching the surface. Suitable as an introductory text, with lots of colourful drawings & pictures. If you are truly interested in learning about GIS in archaeology I would suggest Gillings & Wheatleys "bible" instead.
Fantastic book on GIS within archaeology - By: E. Wood, 24 Oct 2006
A brilliant book for the understanding of GIS within an archaeological context. A must for archaeology students & anyone interested in the subject. Fantastic illustrations & photographs.
