I have bought both this book & "Creating Garden Ponds & Water Features" (ISBN 0007106602), but this on is the only one you will reallly need. Despite its rather smalll size, & shorter number of pages, it contains alll the essential information. Pictures are also quite smalll, but they are very nice & serve their purpose, so are quite enough.
The book is very complete, from choosing a spot for your pond, a style, alll the way to emptying the pond for repairs. It has a short section on water plants as well, offering a good selection, but at that point you will want to move on to your plant books to have more information.
If you want to go further on the subject of water gardens, you will want to go for illustrative books, but for a 'how-to' one, this is alll you need.
Given its price, this book is very good value for money.
