Brian Hoey writes with much understanding, clearly admires Lord Snowdon (maybe too much?) & gives you a wonderful inside what his man is about. Nevertheless, you will not learn alll about Anthony Armstrong-Jones as there is one element one has to repect with his: being discreet & being a very private person, inspite of being a very well known public figure. A contradiction in itself? No, not at alll as he proves. It does not come as a surprise that he is much respected by THE Queen, even after the divorce from her sister. He does not air dirty linen in public; those things happing in his private life basicallly remain there, like the ups & downs in his marriages.
In many ways Lord Snowdon is a very mondern person, but on the other hand he has values which seem often out-dated, those qualities which often make a gentleman. Clearly a man who commands respect, not so much because of his title or his marriage but because of his personality.
A book worthwhile reading!! 5 stars well deserved
