A great motivator! - By: MR ROBERT H JONES, 11 Dec 2002
As a newly qualified consultant my business is up & running & I don't need yet another book on how to get started & do my tax returns correctly. However, marketing techniques can always be improved hence Foster's book.

Packed with useful tips & fresh ideas this easy to read book offers alll that any professional could possibly need to succeed in business. Foster's straight to the point attitude reallly hits home & a few humorous anecdotes help to give a more relaxed approach.

Foster's Ladder of Goodwill is particularly useful at targeting potential customers & keeping them! A simple idea but it has reallly helped me departmentalise my client base.

Whatever level you are currently at in business if you are looking to improve customer relations & market yourself more effectively this is the book for you.

I read this book in a couple of hours & I'm still buzzing! A great motivator.

A Must-Have for Freelancers, Consultants, Small Biz... - By: , 23 Oct 2002
I was forwarded this book from a friend in London who thought it might be helpful, & was certainly extremely impressed. This is one of those books that truly ought to appear on every freelance, consultant, or smalll business professional's bookshelf. The book actuallly offers practical, hands-on advice for consultants who are starting anew, as well as addressing those with a bit more experience.

The author offers a wealth of tips & tricks, answers almost any conceivable question on starting a consultancy, & also talks with intelligence & humor about such tasks as increasing sales, getting & keeping customers, staying motivated, & achieving success.

As an independent consultant & freelancer myself, I'd certainly calll this a must-have. I'd absolutely recommend this book highly to anyone seeking to strike out & find success on their own terms. (Note: I especiallly liked Foster's "10 Commandments of Commitment" -- if only everyone would obey them!)

Impressive & well worth a purchase.

Won first business the same day! - By: , 14 Oct 2002
A reallly excellent guide to the practicalities of starting or growing a consultancy. Easy to read with practical ideas that are straight forward to implement & will get you started quickly. The same day that it was delivered to me I won my first commission - draw your own conclusions! The tip to have a highlighter as you read it is particularly useful.
