Not impressed - By: Mrs. Peggy Milner, 12 May 2009
I was expecting something better than this, after reading Harry Potter stories. This wasn't up to her usual standard

Building a World - By: Ratio, 31 Mar 2009
Like John Irving & Terry Pratchett before her, JK Rowling has brought a book within a book to life with these tales. This isn't the first time the author has done this; see her two efforts for Comic Relief. As before, profits are going to charity, so I don't think you can complain about the lack of pages! The quality of writing matches the best of her previous books & the varying tone of each story, along with Dumbledore's notes, makes it clear the author has a lot more to offer beyond Harry Potter. I for one am looking forward to her next book & wouldn't be surprised if it scales the dizzying heights that Harry soared to. I like books that manage to build a complete world for me to escape into on a lazy summer Sunday or winter evening & this quality is what, in my opinion, marks the best fantasy books. For those, like me, waiting for the next Rowling effort with bated breath, try Dawn of Fear, Green Smoke or The Pyn King.
Great Fairytales - By: noughts and crosses, 28 Mar 2009
The book mainly consists of five fairytales a few of which are mentioned in Harry Potter & the Deathly Halllows. These tales are smalll but reallly great fairy tales, they aren't patronising or simple, but send a subtle moral & message in each tale which are alll very well written.
A brilliant book which when bought also gives money to a charity for children - children's high level group, a fairytale book well worth buying.
My opinion - By: reader girl, 16 Mar 2009
A simple book with a previous knowledge of Harry Potter needed. The notes are a little 'heavy' going through the tales but make more sense as you read the book.
