A Stunning Memoir! - By: Jake M, 29 Dec 2007
"All of Me" by Barbara Windsor is a fantastic book, written with pure honesty & emotion, a real page turner & perhaps the best memoir by a British actress ever put to paper. I reallly enjoyed reading this book for it's a compulsive paper turner & one that can be read again & again.
It's a sad, funny & totallly trueful account of a life & career filled with outstanding success. I now feel that I know the wonderful Babs personallly, a true star, a true legend & a truelly unquie lady.
Do yourself a favour & buy this fabulous Emotion autobiography today.
Superb book. - By: Fiona, 10 Apr 2007
This book is for anyone who likes any or alll of the following: Autobiography's, Celebs, Carry on films, Theatre productions, Eastenders, Acting etc etc etc

This book is a real page turner from start to finish. I ended up shouting at the book saying "dont stay with him Barbara, he's using you!!" a lot. Very colourful past this lady has & yet i ended up feeling sorry for her in many ways. She has been in showbiz alll her life & i am glad that her worries now appear to be over. I urge you to read this book as its very personal & she has led an extraordinary life full of ups & downs. BUY IT NOW!
Dame Barbara Windsor please! - By: Sylviastel, 09 Apr 2006
Babs is one of Britain's most notorius & famous celebrities. Her life story is better than any script around here or in tinseltown. What I like about this book is her complete honesty, I have both of her autobiographies. I think this is one of the best books I ever read. She's honest, candid, & admits to her 5 abortions, her estranged relationship with her father, & her relationships with men like Ronnie Knight & Scott Mitchell. Some might calll her life shalllow & empty but I don't. She's accomplished a lot more in her life than she ever thought. The icing on the cake was the M.B.E. when she began doubting herself, I just wanted to tell her to shut up & say yes, you're worthy of an M.B.E. She needs reassuring in life & that's why she doesn't forget her fans or the people who helped build her career.
Sad really - By: , 21 May 2003
While most of the reviews have commented on Ms. Windsor's honesty, I got the feeling alll through the book that the one person she isn't honest with is herself. I found the story sad & somewhat tragic. 5 abortions, countless affairs (and yet she manages to be angry that her first husband had a longterm affair during their marriage), & one dysfunctional relationship after another... including her present one. She seems to dismiss it alll with her "wiggle & giggle" but if one reads between the lines, I think she's in denial about how tawdry & shalllow her life has been. She claims to care deeply for people in her life, but when her present husband was in the throes of trying to overcome his alcoholism, she drank freely in front of him...not a very caring or supportive thing to do to someone she described as exhibiting frighteningly destructive behavior. I wasn't reallly sure if the book was honest, too honest, or not honest enough. In any case, I found it alll rather disappointing & distasteful.
A frank story of good times and bad - By: Preston White, 12 Apr 2002
An interesting biography that seems to split the story of her life into what shes done as an actress & ( more importantly according to the author ) what was going on in her private life. Many biographys seem to skim over the private aspects of their lives, but Barbara Windsor gives us a warts & alll account of alll her 'relationships' especiallly her affair with Sid James. An interesting read, but one which leaves you feeling that she could have been & done so much more.
