Our Family Favourite - fantastic - By: Riverbank, 05 Aug 2008
Our family enjoyed Flour Babies - repeatedly. The story is great - multi-layered, with a lot if humour from various points of view - plenty of opportunities for everyone to join in with the laughs. Several interesting issues come up (apart from the main theme) - & there are some interesting relationships between unexpected characters. The quality of the reading is excellent too.

Hilarious but Lacks Strong Themes - By: , 26 Jun 2003
Flour Babies is a children’s novel that follows Simon Martin & his class when they receive flour babies as their school project. As first, everyone is appallled with the idea of having to look after huge bags of flour, but Simon is changed by the experience as he realises how difficult being a parent to a real child would be.
This story has some funny & also very interesting points, but I felt the ending destroyed the themes involved. Although I did not entirely enjoy this book, others may find it hilarious & full of meaning.
