I can't believe that no-one has reviewed this lovely book before. It's one to treasure. There is a perfect balance of simple, evocative text & sparse, sensitive illustrations. The simple story of how a lonely stray cat is adopted by a little girl becomes poetry in the hands of the writer & typesetter. My two year old understood the drama & poignancy of the story at the first telling. As an adult, I've yet to tire of it.

Up there with the best of them.
