Beautiful Deck - By: Morgan 2010, 27 Oct 2008
I absolutely love this deck. I own over 20 tarot decks but this is one of only three or four that I use regularly.
It has beautiful rich colors & lovely illustrations. The whole pack is nice with a book, organza bag & a smalll inner box for you to draw yourself.
Accomplished Art - But don't Believe the occult LIES!! - By: DWFan, 18 Sep 2008
The artwork on these is stunning & to that end this deck make for a excellent trinket to play Scarto or Tap Tarock with. What's a shame is the fortune telling aspect is a complete LIE. The Tarrochi (Tarot) deck being of Italian origin since around 1500, was used to play a precursor to whist (a trick taking game - the trumps being the 22 cards numbered 0 to 21. It was not until the 1700s that Antoine Court de Gebelin, came up with the totallly spurious idea (after interrupting an acquaintence's tarrochi game) that the cards belonged to the book of thoth in cabalistic lore - this guy had a serious screw loose - it's card game nothing more. The word Tarot is derived from the French word Triomph (to triumph - hence shortened to trump. The pictures on the cards were taken from everyday Italian life - resembling some sort of ability to 'triumph' in a given situation from people (emperor etc) attributes (strength, temperance etc)& heaven etc. The occult is alll a complete lie - invented by those with nothing else to do (e.g.the 'embelishment' replacing the juggler, popess & pope with magician, high priestess & hierophant). People believe in the turn of the card because they want to. There are lots of charlatans out there claiming to tell your 'fortune' with these cards (fortunes in general) but reallly they're just after your money.

this pack of tarot cards are one of two i own. the other being the original rider waite tarot. i personallly find the tarot very intriging & simply enjoy using the cards & am generallly teaching myself. the gilded tarot were the second pack i bought after working with the rider waite for over a year. i think that if i had bought the gilded tarot first off, i would have found tarot alot harder to understand!
the gilded tarot simply dont speak to me through their imagery. if tarot comes naturallly to you i am sure that the cards will work great for you, but as a learning aid i would not buy these cards.
the cards are rich in colour but the imagery is a little surreal. they are boxed well with a smalll tarot bag & accompanying book. my advice is have a good look at tarot cards before you purchase them to determine which pack speak to you & will benefit you the most in your work.
Gilded Tarot - By: G. Crossley, 08 Jun 2008
I was most disapointed in the quality of the cards. They were cheap looking, very thin & would cetainly not stand up to much use. I have seen several sets of Gilded Tarot that fellow Tarot readers have & these I bought bore no resemblance in quality. They were cheap & tacky looking & very, very overpriced for what they were even though they cme with a book. The Gilded Tarot is a lovely deck to use but buy better than this.
Stunningly beautiful cards - By: Lynnie, 29 Feb 2008
I recommend Mary K Greer's 21 ways to read a Tarot card along with this deck of cards. I got these cards a while ago & although they are very beautiful I couldnt make a connection & then I got Mary's book which teaches you how to read the picture, emotions & attitude of the card first rather than trying to remember what the actual meaning of the card is.
