It does what it says on the tin - it is an alll-encompassing guide to training for rugby.
The drills provided are geared towards players who want to take their training seriously - & when put to use are very effective. The book provides information on what to do in the off-season & pre-season, & gives a range of fitness & strength tests for coaches. It also gives a variety of fitness programs & how to tailor one to oneself. I could go on & on about the features of the book - from mental preparation, to when to have an ice-bath & the perfect warm-up.
The book's key attraction is the obvious love of the sport by the writers. The book is not simply a fitness book - every drill & every paragraph of advice written is specificallly geared towards improving your rugby. This is essential reading for any player or coach who wants to improve performance.

i receantly purchased this book & throughly enjoyed reading it. however when i put the drills & exercises in to use i found them tedious & non productive.

This is an excellent book, if you are new to rugby or a seasoned playeryou will find this a great read. It covers every thing you need to know toget yourself in shape for the next pre-season or keep fit while in regularseason.
