not flashy but good for revision - By: LC6, 26 Jul 2008
This is an excellent book for revision. It doesn't have any photos which is why it gets away with being so concise, so some might like to use another book as their core text. It's well laid out & contains the need to know information for medical school exams without being overwhelming. Plus I felt it was very good value for money.
Probably all you need for pathology as a medical student. - By: Mr. D. Wong, 26 May 2007
Light & easy to carry around in your lab coat pocket, it is the most compact & convenient handbook to have around when you need to look up the aetiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, lab findings & prognosis of any disease. It picks up on the scientific basis of disease, which is often lacking in general medical texts like Kumar & Clark's Clinical Medicine. Although meant to be used alongside the parent text (Robbins & Cotran's Pathologic Basis of Disease), this pocket companion packs more than enough information for most students to use on its own. Chapters are arranged according to General Pathology, describing concepts applicable to alll diseases, & Diseases of Organ Systems, elaborating on specific pathology of the various systems in the body. Filled with diagrams to illustrate pathology & concepts, as well as lists & tables for further details, it is useful as both a revision tool & a reference text.
A neat little fountain of knowledge... - By: Snake, 08 Apr 2007
All of the essentials of its bigger cousin in a much lighter package, & less costlier... Would recommend it for revising pathology before tutorials, tests, exams etc. for undergrad & postgrad purposes. Check up on key concepts & head over to your library to consult the bigger version for more detail. I've had nearly alll the companion editions before, & never regretted paying less for alll the key facts that are presented, without the extraneous detail that is only needed once or twice.
