A very easy to follow book covering lots of different areas - By: niamh.wall@emea.gateway.com, 14 Mar 2001
I have 3 of this authors books & every one of them is brilliant. I am only starting out in photography & I read his Teach yourself Photography to help get me started & it covers everything from equipment to landscape photography to portraits to how to use flash guns, he explains the terminology very well in alll of his books. In this particular book everything is set out very well, the questions are grouped into categories & are worded very well & the answers are explained very well & example photo's & diagrams are given to illustrate the answers. I would recommend this book to everybody starting out in photography.

As a beginner or an amateur in photography this book is a must have! It has alll the questions you could possibly have asked in your head & have probably bothered other photographers or salesmen with:) (i know i have!) I never quite could find a book that would cover my questions or just explain to me things in a non 'rambly way' until i came accross this one & was reallly pleased.
The way the book has been set out is in themes so you can DIRECTLY in one minute find the relevant question to whatever 'theme' u had your question on. For example, whether it was equipment questions (cameras, lenses, flash etc) or technique questions (lighting, composition, colour, depth of field, processing) or subject questions (portraits, kids, holiday, landscape, sport, nature, night, sill life etc).
