Too small for a diary - By: working woman, 23 Sep 2008
This diary is just too smalll to be of any use.
If you just need to record when your shifts are for practice that's fine but you'll have real problems keeping track of lectures during academic blocks. There simply isn't enough space to record the when, where & what details to get you to the right lecture with the right stuff. For use as a pocket diary it could reallly use an elastic to hold it together. It would also be reasonable to expect some way of getting to the right page quickly, such as perforated page corners or a 'Today' bookmark.
This item is vastly overpriced.
For a similar amount you can get the Palgrave Student Planner, or the Smart Student Planner.
The material on reflection is scant. Any student would need far more information on this to complete reflections for a portfolio.
A better use of money would be to buy the Palgrave or Smart planner & either buy or borrow from the library 'becoming a reflective practitioner'.
More than a diary!!! - By: Kate Philp, 13 Jul 2008
First impressions can be that this is a simple diary with some additional pages on reflection added......not quite! Firstly the size is very handy as it fits into your pocket well, there is lots of information for you to add regarding placements with the addition of reflective frameworks to use, information on 'how' to reflect effectively alongside a section on medical terms, drug calculations & some good basics that you would expect in any diary - year planner, contacts & note pages. I would recommend this diary to nursing students who like to have their information 'to hand' - for this purpose its size is a real advantage.
