a heavy going book that has all information needed - By: , 23 Sep 2005
this book is very good & goes into physiology in relation to midwifery in some detail. although i thought it would have been better than it was. you will need some background knowledge on anatomy & physiology to find it useful.
Excellent text book for student midwives. - By: lisalerigo@hotmail.com, 29 Mar 2001
I have found this book to be very easy to read, the text is broken up by diagrams & illistrations which always help to put things into perspectus. A must have book for alll student midwives. EXCELLENT
Core text, possibly to replace Myles / Mayes in the future - By: , 11 May 2000
This core text will assist alll midwives in the basic needs of the childbearing woman. It contains more depth than Mayes / Myles basic texts, but unfortunately Stables references their work an incredible amount. Most of the diagrams & pictures are from these basic texts, & to get a clearer idea, diffrent pictures would have been an advantage. The text is more critical & therefore appropriate for the degree student & those wishing to improve their practice. A good buy generallly, but unnecessary if you already have a basic midwifery text.
