Whilst I did enjoy the book, & have read the sequel, I feel that the characters life's, whilst glamorous, are fairly unrealstic, especiallly as in the first book they are only 16. Plus I have found an error in the book. The blurb says "seeking summer au pairs for five energetic children...join two NYC families..." whilst opposite page one it reads "...for four energetic children...join a NYC family..." ?!

This is such a great book! I got both this & the 2nd one & read them both in 2days! They are so great, I felt like i knew the characters, I just cant wait for the next book to come out. Its great for people about 15-18 who want a good book to read, fanatastic! Definately a plus if you liked the gossip girl series.
Living the high life!! - By: , 15 Jan 2005 Wow! This was a great read. It was very easy to read, it was funny, exciting, romantic & much, much more. I love the way Melissa De La Cruz makes you live the life of the rich & famous every time you pick up the book. From New York city to P.Diddy's party. This book is great for teenagers who love a little romance. You reallly warm to the characters & reallly get to know them. This is an amazing book & i reallly recommend it!!!
An excellent novel by Melissa de la Cruz - By: Louise, 23 Aug 2004 The Au Pairs was a book that only took me 3 days to finish as i read it alll the time because i was so gripped. I liked the way the book had 3 girls from completely different life styles & personalities - it made it interesting to see how they alll related to each other because of this. I also think Melissa de la Cruz has given every character in the book an indervidual & interesting personality that works extremely well for each charater, from the smalll town au pair, to the pushy yet wanting the best for her children mother, to the 6 yr old who the mother insists goes on a diet. This is an excellent novel by Melissa de la Cruz & I would strongly recoment this book to other people!
