A few words, and a search - By: Kurt A. Johnson, 04 Jan 2006
This book is about a mother duck that cannot find one of her ducklings. She goes around asking the other denizens of the pond if they have seen it. The fun thing is that, if you look, you will find where the duckling is.

There are few words in this book, so be aware of the reading level (baby-preschool). However, the artwork is very well done, & the fun of having the little reader find the missing duckling on each page makes the whole thing worthwhile.

Have you seen my duckling? - By: , 03 Aug 2001
This baby-preschool book centres on a mother duck who can not find one of her eight ducklings. Trailed by the other seven ducklings, the mother duck proceeds to ask the various animals living in the pond "Have you seen my duckling?". The question draws the young reader to interact with the goings-on & to try & spot the missing duck, be it hiding in the rushes or swimming on the other side of the pond.

Despite very few words in the text, it has great illustrations. "Have you seen my duckling?" is great for developing and/or reiterating early literacy skills (be it alll a very simple level) like sharing a book, looking at pictures, how stories develop & directionality.
