This book (and Ms Weiner Davis' telephone helpline service) is a lifesaver. Its not only for people who are still in their relationship & trying to save it, but also for those who are seperated, where a spouse is having an affair. It gives great insight into how one half of the couple can make a difference & turn things around on their own, despite a partner who gives no hope of reconciliation. I have read alot of books, & this is by far the best, giving real hope & understanding, whilst also helping you get along with your life.
A very honest approach - By: IXS, 15 Feb 2007 I decided to try this book to help repair my marriage eight months after the divorce, & after my ex had taken up with someone else, so it was always going to be a very difficult up hill struggle.
Having read many books on relationship repair this book is the only one I have read that deals with my particular situation, although the strategies in the book did not work for me, they are valid & in many cases will produce the desired result if adopted early enough.
What this, or any other book for that matter, can't do is make someone love you who doesn't, so if you think the object of your attention is just no longer in love with you, it may be time to move on & save yourself years of heartache, this book may help you make that judgement.
The main reason I value the information in this book is. whilst it did not solve my problem, I gave up & was able to walk away leaving the situation behind knowing that I had done everything & more within my power to repair the relationship, this will hopefully give me a better chance to start again.
Read this before you give up on your marriage - By: Charlotte Dove, 13 Apr 2006 I was in the unfortunate position like many people of going through a seperation having only been married for a short time. This book was a God send. Michele's practical advice & straight talking was absolutely what I needed to face up to my marriage & make it work - it's so much easier to walk away. I started at the end of the book & read the testimonials first & listening to other positive stories it gave me the confidence I needed to give it another go. I leant the book to my husband who in turn found it a great help. To cut a long story short we are now happily back together & working on making ours the best marriage we can. Good luck to alll those who are experiencing problems - there is hope but you both have to work hard at it.
A must have for any troubled couples - By: , 10 Dec 2005 When I bought this book I must admit I was as many of us are in these circumstances a tad sceptical BUT I am pleased to say that this books contents when apllied to the situation actuallly works! It obviously can't guarentee any miracles but it does guide you through almost every aspect of problems as & when they occur. It also helps you to realise what is important to a good relationship, understanding why problems have happened & how to help solve them.
If you are having problems with your marriage buy this book & apply alll it's advice NOW! I have read it twice now in 3 weeks & I still use it as a reference daily, truly great & amazing to see how it helps.
Change your Marriage or maybe your life - By: , 29 Dec 2003 So far my marriage has not been saved but my sanity has. Easy to read, easy to pick up & put down. A wonderful guide on how we alll miss the point of our relationships. How relationships change us into who we are not & how after alll appears wrong we have to be ourselves to find our own happyness. Remember your partner, your lover or the person you desire is no mind reader.
A must read for everyone. You do not have to be in a relationship to learn how they work.
