I was disappointed with this book. If you haven't read anything on having a baby then it is probably a good read. But I found "What to expect in the first year" more comprehensive & the NHS "0-5 years" (free from your health visitor) just as basic & easy to read.

Toddler taming is very good - this is not up to the same standard.

This is an excellent overview of baby care & I found myself referring to it time & time again. Dr Christopher Green is the still smalll voice of calm in the hurly burly of caring for a smalll child & his solutions to some of the day to day problems are full of common sense & years of experience with both children & parents. I think that is the secret of his books - they focus on the parent-child relationship rather than being instructional.
