Still a good McNaught - By: , 10 Jan 2005
Was put off by some of the reviews but as it was the last McNaught I hadn't read & since I love most of her books I thought I'd give it a go. It was much better than I was expecting. A sweet & tender story with lots of depth of emotion. No 'consumated' seduction scenes but plenty of anticipation & it fitted well with the plot. Still a very satisfying romance & good escapist stuff. Enjoyed it a lot & wish she'd hurry up & write some more.
Disappointing - not one of Ms McNaught's best - By: , 16 Oct 2002
Having been a huge fan of Ms McNaught's for a long time, I looked forward to reading this book. However, I found the storyline unbelievable (a rushed romance leading to the heroine moving abroad with our hero in the space of a couple of weeks) & the characters lacked the usual attention to detail that I normallly enjoy in Ms McNaught's books. Perfect, Paradise & Double Standards are the best modern books by Ms McNaught.
I wouldn't bother buying this one! - By: , 07 May 2001
The only two contemporary novels I have so far enjoyed of Judith McNaught's are Perfect & Paradise. This one is very bland - it should,ve been published by Mills & Boon. It is very unusual to find such a timid female character in her books. I only read this book once, about two years ago, & unlike most of my other Judith McNaught books, I have never read it again. However, she is still the best historical romance writer around, so i'd stick with those.
boring...lacking the sensuality that's totally mc naught - By: , 23 Nov 1999
I have read alll of judith mc naught's novel & this was difinitely below her standard. It's time for her to return to the sensuality of books like'something wonderful' & 'kingdom of dreams', my personal favorite. Very huge dissapointment. I only read it because I bought it & did not want to lose my money's worth. more's the pity. I would have given no stars but amazon does not offer that option.
Not worth reading - By: , 21 Apr 1999
I have read & loved alll of Judith McNaught's other books, but this one I just couldn't finish. I actuallly threw the book across the room after the third or fourth chapter. Ramon is so sexist & the heroine is bigoted. What a perfect pair! Very disappointing from such a wonderful author. I'd give in no stars if I could. Judith let us down with this one.
